Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center Appoints Chief Nursing OfficerFourth Generation Nurse was Born for the Position
"I am thrilled to be joining the team at SRMC," said Littlefield. "To have a hand in shaping the nursing and clinical care at a new hospital is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I am also very excited to return to acute care, where I began nursing and where I know I can make the greatest impact on quality care to our patients." As a fourth generation nurse, Littlefield was destined for a career in healthcare. She began her career as a Critical Care nurse, and has held leadership positions in nursing, healthcare operations and start-ups. Most recently, she was charged with the strategic planning, development and implementation of United Healthcare's end-of-life program. She has also served as the Vice President of Operations for Capital Hospice and Palliative Care, and as the Associate Director for Quality and Associate Vice President of Nursing at Virginia Hospital Center. "Nancy's experience and expertise are an invaluable addition to SRMC," said Tim Tobin, CEO of Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center. "With her experience in launching new businesses combined with her years of nursing leadership, she truly is the perfect fit for the position." A long-time Virginian, Littlefield earned her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing from George Mason University, and her Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a member of the Lutheran Housing Board, and the Foundation for Hospice in Sub-Saharan Africa. She and her family are residents of Prince William County, and she enjoys spending spare time with her grandchildren. |
